Recall 91V174000
Electrical System › Wiring — Chance · reported 7 Oct 1991 · 187 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
WIRING OF THE TELL-TALE MODULE, LOCATED IN THE REAR GATE UNLOCK-UNLATCH MECHANISM, CAUSES THE REAR BRAKES TO BE APPLIED AND THE REAR GATE TO UNLATCH WHEN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL PUSH-TO-TEST LIGHT IS PRESSED.
The risk
WHEN THE REAR BRAKES ARE APPLIED UNEXPECTEDLY WITH THEVEHICLE IN MOTION, STANDING PASSENGERS IN THE BUS ARE EXPOSED TO INCREASE RISKOF INJURY BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN STOP.
The fix
INSTALL THE REDESIGNED TELL-TALE MODULE.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
