Recall 92V036000

Structure › Body › Bumpers — Coleman · reported 17 Mar 1992 · 366 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE BOLTS USED TO ATTACH THE REAR BUMPER TO THE FRAME ARE DEFECTIVE BECAUSE OF A HYDROGEN EMBRITTLEMENT CONDITION.

The risk

THE DEFECTIVE BOLT HEADS COULD SHEAR OFF AFTERINSTALLATION AND ALLOW THE BUMPER TO FALL OFF THE TRAILER, RESULTING IN A ROADHAZARD AND POSSIBLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT OR PERSONAL INJURY.

The fix

REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE BOLTS WITH NEW BOLTS.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
