Recall 93V054000

Trailer Hitches — Cobra · reported 2 Apr 1993 · 24 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THE REAR TRAILER HITCH DOES NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT STRENGTH TO WITHSTAND THE LOADS OF AN ATTACHED TRAILER.

The risk

THE MOUNTING BRACKET CAN SEPARATE FROM THE MOTORHOME, ANDTHE TRAILER WILL ONLY BE ATTACHED BY THE SAFETY CHAINS, CAUSING POSSIBLE LOSSOF CONTROL OF THE TRAILER AND/OR THE MOTORHOME, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLEACCIDENT.

The fix

INSTALL ADDITIONAL SUPPORT BRACKETS TO THE TRAILER HITCH FRAME.

SYSTEM: TRAILER HITCH BRACKET.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: DIESEL PUSHER MOTORHOMES WITH A REAR TRAILER HITCH BRACKET.

Is this car's recall fixed?
