Recall 93V086000

Trailer Hitches — Rockwood · reported 11 May 1993 · 155 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THE REAR TRAILER HITCH MAY BREAK BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT STRENGTH TO WITHSTAND THE LOADS OF AN ATTACHED TRAILER.

The risk

SHOULD THE TRAILER HITCH MOUNTING BRACKET BREAK, THETRAILER WOULD SEPARATE FROM THE MOTORHOME AND WOULD BE ATTACHED ONLY BY THESAFETY CHAINS, CAUSING POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE TRAILER AND/OR THEMOTORHOME, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.

The fix

INSTALL ADDITIONAL SUPPORT BRACKETS TO THE TRAILER HITCH MOUNTING BRACKET.

SYSTEM: EQUIPMENT; TRAILER HITCH.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: DIESEL PUSHER MOTORHOMES WITH A REAR TRAILER HITCHBRACKET.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
