Recall 94V001000

Steering › Linkages › Drag › Link › Connection — Prevost · reported 5 Oct 1994 · 324 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

INTERFERENCE OF THE "DRAG LINK" WITH AN ADJUSTING SCREW OF THE LEFT DISC BRAKE SLACK ADJUSTER COULD OCCUR WHEN EXTREME SUSPENSION MOVEMENT IS COMBINED WITH MAXIMUM STEERING ANGLE.

The risk

THE INTERFERENCE MAY AFFECT STEERING CONTROL AND CAN EVENTUALLY CAUSE FAILURE OF THE STEERING DRAG LINK AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE BRAKE SLACK ADJUSTER . IN EITHER CASE, IT MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.

The fix

THE DRAG LINK ON ALL INVOLVED VEHICLES AND THE STEERING ARM ON CERTAIN VEHICLES WILL BE REPLACED TO ELIMINATE THE INTERFERENCE.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
