Recall 94V048000

Exterior Lighting › Tail Lights — Oshkosh · reported 11 Mar 1994 · 160 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE ELECTRICAL WIRING HARNESS DOES NOT ALWAYS INSURE A POSITIVE GROUND BETWEEN THE SELF-GROUNDING SEVEN WAY RECEPTACLE AND THE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLIES THROUGH THE SLIDING RUNNING GEAR FRAME. VIBRATION FROM VEHICLE OPERATION CAUSES INTERMITTENT LOSS OF AN ELECTRICAL GROUND TO THE REAR FRAME.

The risk

THE INTERMITTENT LOSS OF ELECTRICAL GROUND CAUSES FLICKERING OF THE REAR LIGHTS.

The fix

A GROUNDING WIRE WILL BE ADDED TO THESE VEHICLES.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
