Recall 94V229000

Exterior Lighting — Buick · reported 21 Nov 1994 · 1,022 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE VEHICLES WERE ASSEMBLED WITH AN INCORRECT FRONT PARK/TURN SIGNAL BULB WHICH DOES NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT CANDLE POWER. THIS DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT."

The risk

CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: OPERATORS COULD FAIL TO NOTICE AND HEED THE WARNING LABELS. REDUCES CANDLE POWER ON THE PARK/TURN LIGHTS DECREASES THE LIKLIHOOD OF VEHICLE OPERATOR'S INTENT BEING SEEN BY OTHER MOTORISTS.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE INCORRECT BULB WITH THE CORRECT BULB.

SYSTEM: LIGHTING; LAMP OR SOCKET; PARK LIGHTS; FMVSS 108.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES.NOTE: IF THE VEHICLE IS PRESENTED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND THE REMEDY IS NOT PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME, PLEASE CONTACT BUICK AT 1-800-521-7300. Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
