Recall 95V034000
Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Foundation Components › Drum — Western Star · reported 22 Feb 1995 · 48 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
THE BRAKE RETURN SPRINGS ON THE FRONT BRAKES CAN CONTACT THE FRONT HUBS AS THE BRAKE PADS AND DRUMS WEAR, RESULTING IN SPRING FAILURE. A PIECE OF THE FAILED SPRING CAN LODGE IN THE BRAKE CAM CAUSING THE BRAKE TO DRAG AND THE STEERING TO PULL TO ONE SIDE.
The risk
STEERING PULL FROM THE DRAGGING BRAKE CAN INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE CRASH.
The fix
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FRONT HUBS ON THE AFFECTED VEHICLES.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
