Recall 95V094000
Parking Brake › Conventional › Mechanical — Freightliner · reported 9 May 1995 · 3,050 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
THE PARKING BRAKE LEVER MAY NOT TRAVEL FAR ENOUGH OVER CENTER TO ASSURE THAT IT REMAINS IN THE PROPER POSITION ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY WHILE PARKED.
The risk
IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT PROPERLY PARKED WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THE CORRECT POSITION, AND IF THE VEHICLE IS PARKED ON A GRADE, IT COULD UNINTENTIONALLY ROLL AWAY INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR AN ACCIDENT.
The fix
DEALERS WILL REMOVE AND REPLACE THE PARKING BRAKE LEVER WITH A LEVER THAT REQUIRES A 25 LB. EFFORT TO RELEASE.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
