Recall 95V146000

Equipment › Other › Labels — Union City · reported 2 Aug 1995 · 43 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THESE VEHICLES WERE BUILT WITH INCORRECT TIRE, WHEEL, AND INFLATION INFORMATION PRINTED ON THE FINAL STAGE MANUFACTURER'S CERTIFICATION LABEL. THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 120, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VHEICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS."

The risk

CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: INCORRECT INFLATION OF TIRES CAN CAUSE EXCESSIVE UNEVEN TIRE WEAR WHICH CAN RESULT IN TIRE FAILURE AND AN ACCIDENT.

The fix

DEALERS WILL INSTALL A CORRECTED FINAL STAGE MANUFACTURER CERTIFICATION LABEL.

SYSTEM: CERTIFICATION LABEL; FMVSS NO.120.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: FORWARD CONTROL WALK-IN VANS BUILT ON CHEVROLET OR GMC INCOMPLETE CHASSIS. NOTE: OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME, SHOULD CONTACT UNION CITY BODY COMPANY AT 1-317-964-3121. ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-800-424-9393.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
