What's wrong

A LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST CAN OCCUR DUE TO THE SEPARATION OF THE PULLEY FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP SHAFT.

The risk

VEHICLE STEERING COULD BE LOST INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.

The fix

TTHE POWER STEERING DRIVE SYSTEM WILL BE REMOVED AND REINSTALLED WITH REDESIGNED POWER STEERING DRIVE SYSTEM COMPONENTS.

OWNER NOTIFICATION:OWNERS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY TELEPHONE AND A FOLLOWUP OWNER NOTIFICATION LETTER IS EXPECTED TO BE MAILED DURING OCTOBER 1996.NOTE:IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT WESTERN STAR/ORION AT 1-905-625-9510.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-800-424-9393.
