What's wrong

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: 3-WHEEL ON-ROAD VEHICLES, MODELS 898464B, 898465A, 898474B, 898474C, 898475A AND 898484. THE DOOR LATCH CAN RELEASE UNEXPECTEDLY.

The risk

THE DOOR LATCH RELEASING UNEXPECTEDLY CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT OR PERSONAL INJURY TO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANT.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THESE DOOR LATCHES WITH A NEWLY DESIGNED DOOR LATCH.

OWNER NOTIFICATION:OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN NOVEMBER 19, 1996.NOTE:OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CUSHMAN AT 1-402-474-8572.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-800-424-9393.
