What's wrong

THE ALUMINUM FACIA TRIM PANEL ON THE PASSENGER SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) AIR BAG DOOR CAN DETACH DURING AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.

The risk

IF THIS OCCURS DURING A VEHICLE CRASH, THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS COULD BE INJURED.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SRS AIR BAG DOORS WITH A NEW DOOR USING A DIFFERENT ADHESIVE TO ATTACH THE PANEL.

OWNER NOTIFICATION:OWNER NOTIFICATION WILL BEGIN DURING APRIL 1997. NOTE:OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT ROLLS-ROYCE AT 1-201-967-9100.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-800-424-9393.
