What's wrong
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH WHEELS THAT ARE STAMPED WITH "T16X16K DOT 0496 RUDEVECA." THE WHEEL CENTER TO RIM WELDS HAVE FAILED, CAUSING THE RIM TO BREAK LOOSE FROM THE WHEEL CENTER.
The risk
THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE A DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE TRAILER INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.
The fix
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THESE WHEELS.
OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 17,1998.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR TRAILERS TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CHARLES MACHINE AT 1-580-336-3591.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
