What's wrong

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRANSIT COACHES. THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY CABLES WERE NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED.

The risk

THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE THE NUTS TO LOOSEN OVER A PERIOD OF TIME CAUSING A SHORT CIRCUIT AND POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD.

The fix

DEALERS WILL INSPECT, REMOVE AND RE-INSTALL THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY CABLES.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN SEPTEMBER 22, 1998.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT PREVOST AT 1-418-883-3391.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
