What's wrong

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CLASS A MOTOR HOMES. THE INTERMEDIATE DRIVE SHAFT INSTALLED ON THESE MOTOR HOMES CAN FALL TO THE GROUND.

The risk

THIS CONDITION CREATES A POTENTIAL LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND/OR A ROAD OBSTRUCTION.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE INTERMEDIATE DRIVE SHAFT WITH ONE OF A NEWER DESIGN.

OWNER NOTIFIATION BEGAN SEPTEMBER 17, 1998.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FLEETWOOD AT 1-800-322-8216.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
