What's wrong

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CEMENT MIXERS EQUIPPED WITH RIDEWELL FRONT AIR RIDE SUSPENSIONS. THE HANGER FRONT SUSPENSION IS WEAK AND CAN FAIL.

The risk

FRONT STEERING WHEELS CAN COME LOOSE FROM THE FRAME RESULTING IN A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE RIDEWELL FRONT AIR RIDE SUSPENSION WITH CONVENTIONAL SPRING SUSPENSIONS.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN APRIL 20, 1999.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MAXIM AT 1-812-346-5072.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
