What's wrong

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CONVERSION VAN. A PROTECTIVE SHIELD LOCATED ON THE DRIVER SIDE UNDERBODY AT THE SEWER DUMP VALVE IS LOCATED TOO FAR FORWARD AND INBOARD ON THE VEHICLE.

The risk

THIS COULD INTERFERE WITH THE PROPER OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE'S PARK/EMERGENCY BRAKE.

The fix

DEALERS WILL CUT THE SHIELD TO PREVENT INTERFERENCE WITH THE OPERATION OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 22, 1999.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT LEISURE TRAVEL VANS AT 1-204-822-3009.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
