What's wrong

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. A COOLANT WATER HOSE CAN COME LOOSE AT THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING DURING OPERATION.

The risk

STEAM RELEASED COULD OBSCURE THE RIDER'S VISION OR LEAKING COOLANT COULD MAKE THE REAR TIRE SLIP.

The fix

DEALERS WILL INSTALL AND PROPERLY TIGHTEN TWO NEW HOSE CLAMPS.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 14, 1999. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT YAMAHA AT 1-800-962-7926.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
