About the BMW 5 Series

The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured and marketed by BMW since 1972. It is the successor to the BMW New Class sedans and is currently in its eighth generation. The car is sold as either a sedan or, since 1991, a station wagon. A 5-door fastback was sold between 2009 and 2017. Each successive generation has been given an internal G-code designation since 2017. Previously, a F-code designation was used between 2010 and 2016, while an E-code designation was used between 1972 and 2010. These are used to distinguish each model and generation from each other.

Frequently asked questions

Can I find out who owns this vehicle from the VIN?

No — and no legitimate service can. Linking a VIN or plate to a named owner is restricted by the U.S. Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the EU GDPR and equivalent laws. CarLogs shows the vehicle only — specs, recalls, problems and value — never the person.

Is the VIN WBANF33506CS34821 valid?

WBANF33506CS34821 is a structurally valid 17-character VIN with a correct ISO 3779 check digit, assigned to a manufacturer in Germany. It decodes to the 2006 BMW 5 Series.

Are there safety recalls on the 2006 BMW 5 Series?

NHTSA lists 8 recall campaigns for the 2006 BMW 5 Series model year. That covers the model year, not this individual car: to see whether a specific vehicle still needs a recall repair, check its VIN on NHTSA.gov or ask a franchised dealer. Recall repairs are done at no charge.

What is a fair price for a 2006 BMW 5 Series?

Comparable 2006 BMW 5 Series listings run roughly $4,900–$10,300, typically around $7,375 (from 213 comparable vehicles). The full report shows this exact VIN's valuation.
